Having my mind blown at the Niagara Magic Theatre

Hey flock! Hope 2026 has been treating you well. I’ve personally been losing my mind trying to juggle a new job (still in tourism don’t worry), the house, and this little minor thing I have going on that I *think* is called a wedding, but I still find some time to do fun things.

Case and point, remember that magic theatre I briefly mentioned in my last post from…October (yikes)? Well, I finally got a chance to check it out!

Unfortunately I was absolutely not in blog-mode, so this post is going to be very light on photos. You’ll have to deal with my ever-vivid descriptions.

The Niagara Falls Magic Theatre is located in the Pointe portion of Comfort Inn The Pointe, which is a plot that has sat vacant for the better half of my lifetime. I’m very happy to say that this is no longer the case. The new owners of the hotel have managed to lease out every nook and cranny of The Pointe, and Old Falls Street is much better off for that.

The Magic Theatre itself is located in the basement of The Pointe, which feels like walking backstage at a concert. The main show at the theatre is Magic Rocks!, starring Leon Etienne. Leon’s actually a well-traveled and very famous illusionist, and the idea to plant his iconic traveling show right here in Niagara Falls, NY makes me absurdly happy. The blacked-out lobby area feels very much like being in the hallways of a concert venue, which goes really well with the “Rock” vibe of the show.

We entered the theatre, a cozy (but not tiny) spot with a practical floor stage, and stadium style seating that allow you to see all the action no matter where you sit.

Rock music plays over speakers as you wait for the show to begin, and a rotating slideshow highlighted some things to do in the area, mentioned their merch, and specifically forbade me from photography, video, or…rabbits.

So, as it turns out, Leon Etienne is allergic to rabbits.

Yes, he does understand the irony, but we don’t have time to think to hard about that because the show is about to begin.

The next 75 and change minutes left me with my mind completely blown (which Leon actually frequently jokes about during the show). I watched him cut his assistant in half with audience help, watched him appear to break spacetime, and even somehow regurgitate a deck of cards. The show is an impressive mix of large stunt and close-up magic, which makes it very entertaining for everyone watching. Leon’s personality is was really sells the show. He’s funny, but not in that cloying comedian way that would detract from the performance. The jokes land because they’re there. It’s obvious. What isn’t obvious is how how somehow swapped places instantaneously with his assistant, or how he escaped that…

Y’know what? In the spirit of magicians, I’m not going to tell you everything I saw. Just take my word for it: it’s an awesome show.

It’s so awesome, in fact, that I quickly bought a Magic Rocks! shirt to wear for my post-show photo with Leon:

His hair is as baffling as his magic tricks

So, flock, if you’re looking for something to do at night in Niagara Falls, NY (which so many of you have always asked for), go to the Niagara Falls Magic Theatre. Tickets can be found on their website.

P.S. Leon, if you’re reading this, you’re awesome and thank you for bringing this to my hometown. We needed some magic in our lives!

Is there somewhere you think we should check out? Let us know in the comments.
