I’m talking about shared holidays. Everyone gets two of everything. This is so awesomely displayed on the dates of July 1-4.
See, July 1 is Canada Day. How do Canadians like to celebrate their independence? Usually by shopping here.
I’m not kidding: Canada Day is such a major happening in Niagara Falls, NY, it used to force the traffic level to update to “Bananas”.
Then of course we have the American Independence Day, which is yet another shopping day for both sides.
But it’s not about the shopping. See, it’s about the fact that we get four days to celebrate our neighboring countries. That’s something only a border town truly gets to experience.
