Hi flock! Welcome to Late Night Cafe Chat number 6. Oh, and happy father’s day to all you dads out there reading this.
Tonight’s song is “Are You With Me” by Lost Frequencies:
Tonight’s topic: Summer.
The official start of summer is in three days, but it’s already been summer. Everyone starts celebrating summer on Memorial Day, if not earlier, so who cares about the Summer Solstice (sorry Pagans).
Everyone has a thing that makes them think of summer. It’s that…thing…that instantly takes them away to some summery paradise.
For me, that thing is the smell of freshly cut grass, combined with a hint of gasoline. I mow the lawn at two houses during the summer, so my hands often reek of gasoline from filling the mower tank. I also end up smelling like a mix of grass and gas, so that’s that.
I’m not that much of an outdoor sheep, but I’ve gotten better as I’ve gotten older. I’ve even actually gone to the Falls a few times (+1 point for being true to your name, Sheepie Niagara).
I always felt that summer officially ends after the 4th of July. That makes no sense, there’s like two more months of summer break after that, but it’s still the end of summer. Stores start selling back to school stuff on July 5th. Summer ends after the fireworks on the 4th of July, that’s just a fact.
That’s not a bad thing: Fall is a nice season. I just can’t stand the piles of snow that drop and random times. I can do without that.
Do you have a summer thing? Do you completely disagree about the 4th of July end date? Leave a comment below!

It’s actually winter here. And I envy you your summer because I’m cold…
That one thing that reminds me of summer would be that specific shade of green from a healthy shade tree and orange juice

I know that shade of green quite well around here in Niagara Falls. Don’t worry: winter will be over quick!
