Demolition: L.N.C.C. No. 11

Hey flock! Welcome to Late Night Cafe Chat number 11.

Tonight’s song is “We Shout” by t.A.T.u.:

Tonight’s topic: Demolition.

I can’t even tell you how long I’ve loved building demolition. I watched them tear down an old high school when I was a toddler, and really never stopped hunting for sites.

I know a lot of people that love to watch videos of building implosions. While I totally enjoy a quick demo every now and again, I am incredibly partial to the excavators and grabbers.

The meticulous nature of an excavator-led “deconstruction” allows you to really admire the insides of the building as it goes down. You get to peel back layers on a location that you couldn’t physically enter, but can view now as it comes down.

Demolition also leads to progress. The removal of old buildings to bring life back to an area is a distinct part of society.

Then again, some buildings shouldn’t be demolished (I’m looking at you, Turtle). If a building still has a usability to it, everything should be done to bring business back to the building.

Of course, if that doesn’t happen, be certain to know that I’ll probably be on site with a camera as the wrecking ball comes rolling in.
