Flock, Throwback Thursday came at me hard.
If you’re unfamiliar with my origins, I was originally a mascot for a radio show on WNIA radio. I spent a lot of quality time with a lot of quality people while there, and it will always hold a place in my heart.
That being said: it’s generally a mess.
From lightbulbs falling out of the ceiling to “Der Kommissar” running an aux cable across the entire studio in an attempt to circumvent a busted soundboard, the online radio station has had its share of issues.
Even though I am long gone, I have accidentally become the go-to sheep for questions revolving the station.
This morning, I learned that the winter storm knocked out their server. Wonderful.
There’s workarounds when a piece of equipment fails. There isn’t a workaround when the fundamental system responsible for the entire broadcast fails.
Luckily, NU’s crackerjack I.T. team should come in to save the day. In the meantime, WNIA’s Genera Manager has probably aged 30 years overnight.
