This week: International Star Lexxi Raine performing at River Pub

Hey flock! I’m always looking for fun things to do here in Niagara Falls (especially in the “off-season”), and sometimes you just find one that’s too good to be true.

Lexxi Raine, hot off a U.K. tour, is performing here in Niagara Falls this Friday (March 6) at the River Pub.

Lexxi was originally part of the group Avidd the Band, and will actually be reuniting Friday with Avidd drummer Rich Miller. Her music can be described as punky, with a dash of late Noughties movie music. In other words, I love it.

I got to see these two when they performed at the pub in January, and it was an event.

Lexxi provided a solid mix of covers and originals, which made rookies like me comfortable (although if you haven’t listened to her originals, go do that right now). The duo somehow made two instruments sound like an entire band (which might be due to Monsier Miller’s Mystical Drummy Box/Sitty Block). The vocal-instrument mix was also flawless, which is impressive for a pub show.

A highlight of the night for me was the entire pub singing along to The Proclaimers I’m Gonna Be (500 Miles).

If you’re looking for something to do this Friday, I definitely recommend heading on over the the River Pub at 6004 Buffalo Avenue. Show runs from 6-9pm, and is absolutely free (although you definitely should get yourself a drink and support the awesome folks at the pub).
